My mother swallowed. “Yes, Your Honor. Ava helped me put the papers together. I’m… I’m not good with this kind of thing. I get nervous. But everything she has is true.”
Richard Latham lifted his eyebrows.
“A nine-year-old cannot examine witnesses.”
“I wasn’t planning to examine anyone,” I said.
